General Questions
Who Will Perform the Puppet Show?
Your puppeteer will be Evy Wright, director of Curious Moon Puppets. You can read about Evy here.
How much does a show cost?
Please call or email for pricing. We offer discounts for certain groups and want to make sure we quote the correct price.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, for most shows and workshops we require a 50% deposit and a signed contract. Birthday parties are an exception - see this same question in that category for more information. We understand that some municipalities make paying a deposit impossible and are willing to work with you.
Do you accept credit cards?
Unfortunately, we are not equipped to accept credit cards. We accept checks or cash.
Do you do any free shows?
Yes, we perform a limited number of free or nominally priced shows per year. To receive a free show, you must meet the following qualifications:
- You are a non-profit or charitable organization.
- The performance is for the audience that you want to help. We do not offer free shows for fundraiser events.
- Your audience is not being charged in any way for the performance.
- You have a contact person who will be on-site during the performance.
- You ask real nice.
Do you have a theater that we can come to? What time are the shows?
We do not have a permanent theater. We are solely a touring company and we bring the shows to you!
How much room do you need to set up?
It depends on the show, but a flat area of 10’ x 10’ is a good average.
Do you build your own puppets and puppet stages?
We build most of our own puppets. Occasionally we collaborate with other artists and puppet makers and composers. Evy’s husband gets roped into building the stages.
Are Evy Wright and Evy Berman the same person?
Yes, indeed we are.
Do you offer any services besides puppet shows and workshops?
Yes! Please take a look at our More page.
Do you have a Winnie the Pooh/Disney Character/Favorite Television Character puppet show?
Due to copyright laws, we can not perform a puppet show with licensed characters. All of our puppet shows contain characters that are original or in the public domain.

Birthday Party Questions
Who Will Perform the Puppet Show?
All birthday party puppet shows are one-person shows, and your puppeteer will be one of Curious Moon’s founders, Evy Wright. We do not send anyone else out to perform for our parties.
Will you come to my home to perform the puppet show?
Yes! We are a touring company and do not have a permanent theatre space. We will come to your home or wherever you are having your party.
What is a good age for a puppet show birthday party?
We recommend our shows for ages three and up. Sometimes we perform at parties where the birthday child is younger than three but the other children are older. You know your child best, but our recommendation is waiting until at least age three. On the other side of the spectrum, we have performed for birthday party celebrants as old as ten. But once your child is over the age of four it’s a good idea to make sure they still think a puppet show is a cool idea. A puppet show is not always the best surprise for an eight year old.
How much does it cost?
Our birthday party packages start at $175. Please call or email us for exact pricing in your area.
Do you require a deposit?
Unless it is over a holiday weekend, we do not require a deposit for birthday parties. You are trusting that we will show up on time and do a great show, and we trust that you will pay us when we’re through.
Do you accept credit cards?
Unfortunately, we are not equipped to accept credit cards. We accept checks or cash at the time of the performance.
What about gratuities?
Tipping is certainly not required or even expected but is always, of course, appreciated. If you feel that we have given you exceptional service and a show that was above and beyond your highest expectations and would like to offer a gratuity, we will certainly not be offended by your generosity! Tips, when given, usually range from $5 - $20.
How much room do you need to set up?
The minimum amount of space is an area of about 6’ x 6’. Usually a playroom, basement or living room has enough space, perhaps with the moving of some furniture, for one of our shows.
What time will you arrive and how long will you stay?
We arrive between 30 and 45 minutes before the start of the performance. After the performance, it will take us an additional 20 minutes to pack up before we leave.
What are the prizes/puppet workshops?
The prizes for our game (included with Package A: Fun and Games) are party favors, which include items such as: stickers, finger puppets, balls, spinning tops, glow-in-the-dark toys, and more. We NEVER give out candy or any other type of food. The game usually takes between 5 and 10 minutes to play, depending on the number of participants. Our puppet workshop (included with Package B: Puppet Extravaganza) is themed to the show of your choice. It is an age appropriate workshop for young children. We bring all the supplies we need, and the children can choose from a variety of colorful craft supplies including pompoms, foam shapes, crayons, markers, yarn, feathers, and more to decorate the puppets that they make. This activity can be done at tables or on the floor. Puppet making usually takes about 20 - 30 minutes.
Do you offer the other shows listed on your website for parties?
No. Frog & Jenny and Curious Moon Mini Puppet Circus are the only shows currently offered for birthday parties. All of our other shows are too big or otherwise inappropriate for the intimate environment of an at-home party.
Do you offer the other workshops listed on your website for parties?
No. We offer special workshops for parties that are fast, fun, and themed for the puppet show your child just enjoyed. Our other workshops are designed to last for at least one hour, are more complex, and require a much longer set-up time.

Library Questions
Do you perform at libraries?
Yes! Most of our library performances occur during the summer as part of the Vacation Reading Program. We perform our shows at an average of 50 - 60 libraries each summer.
How far are you willing to travel?
We are currently able to travel a few hours from Morgantown, WV. If two or more libraries that are near each other book our shows on the same or subsequent days, we gladly divide any travel costs between them.
Do you offer discounts for libraries?
Yes, we do! We offer a 30% discount off of our regular performance fees for libraries. Currently the cost for a library performance is $195 plus travel. As avid readers, we strongly support and encourage literacy programs and only offer this considerable discount to libraries.
Is your program literature based?
All of our programs meet the requirements for literature based program funding. We will gladly send documentation supporting this if requested.
